Dan & Esther Penney
World Venture Country: Senegal, West Africa
Dan and Esther are both MKs: Dan grew up in Senegal, West Africa and Esther in Rwanda, East Africa. Dan’s parents were pioneers among the Muslim People of Senegal, evangelizing through literature distribution, Bible studies, films, and apologetics especially designed fro Muslims.
Dan is a graduate of Wheaton College and Denver Seminary. Esther is also a graduate of Wheaton College and also received a BS in Nursing at Northern Illinois University. While in the US, they were both used extensively in their local church and college in various capacities.
The Penneys are just completing their second term in Senegal. Dan is the Senegal field leader for World Venture and spends much of his time and energy multiplying his impact through enhancing his colleagues’ ministries. He is also still involved with ITES (the Institute of Evangelical Theology of Senegal) as the chairman of its board of directors.
Dan and Esther both are continuing their efforts at friendship evangelism of Muslims in their neighborhood. Pray especially for Mbotch, the local Imam with whom they are developing a friendship. They are also praying that the mosque directly across the street from their house will be transformed into the neighborhood church! As they look forward with great expectation for all that God is unfolding on the field, Dan and Esther also ask for prayer for increased wisdom and discernment as they lead and prepare their team.
They have four sons: Joel, Luke, Caleb and Zack. Randall began partnering with the Penneys in February of 1999.
