Bachelor of Arts in English, Kansai University of Foreign Studies (Japan), 1988; Bachelor of Music in organ performance, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York 1995; Master of Music in organ performance, University of Alabama, 1997. She has been serving as Organist at Randall since February, 2007. Previously, she held positions as Music Director/Organist at First Presbyterian Church of East Aurora and as Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Member of American Guild of Organists.

Koto and her husband, Mitsuaki "Mitsu," live in Williamsville with two children, Maoto and Erin, and a beagle, Caesar. She and Mitsu are from Osaka, Japan, and they have been living in the U.S. since 1990.
